TRANSJAKARTA
Development
ideas Bus Rapid Transit project in Jakarta appeared around 2001 . Later this
idea acted upon by Governor of Jakarta at the time, Sutiyoso . An institute
named Institute for Transportation & Development Policy ( ITDP ) becomes
important that accompanies the planning process of this project . The initial
concept of this system was made by PT . Copyright Pamintori , a transportation
consultant who has frequently collaborated with the Jakarta Transportation
Agency . In addition to private parties , there are several others who also
support the success of this project , among them the American aid agency ( U.S.
AID ) and the University of Indonesia 's Center for Transportation Studies (
CTS - UI ) . [ 3 ]
TransJakarta
started operations on January 15, 2004 , marked the inauguration of Corridor 1
, with the aim of providing transportation services that are faster, convenient
, and affordable for the citizens of Jakarta . Since the beginning of the
operation of TransJakarta , ticket prices are set to be subsidized by the local
government . In order to socialize and the introduction of mass transit is to
the community , the first 2 weeks of operation (15-30 January 2004 )
TransJakarta users are not subject to tariffs . Starting February 1, 2004 ,
rates for USD TransJakarta into force in 2000 .
Some
of the development of post - inauguration of Corridor 1 continue, among other
bus drivers vacancies open to women , improvement of infrastructure and the bus
stop , the implementation of women's zone , placement officers in the bus ,
sterilization TransJakarta lane with manual and automatic portals , testing
contra - flow system ( TransJakarta lane opposite to the general lines which
intersect ) , as well as services for users with disabilities .

Having
successfully operated Corridor 1 , further corridors began to be built and
opened in stages :

Corridors 2 and 3 was inaugurated on January 15, 2006.
•
Corridor 4 , 5 , 6 , and 7 was inaugurated on January 27, 2007 .
•
Corridor 8 was inaugurated on February 21, 2009 .
•
Corridor 9 and 10 was inaugurated on December 31, 2010 .
•
Corridor 11 was inaugurated on December 28, 2011 .
•
Corridor 12 was inaugurated on February 14, 2013 .
TransJakarta
supporting transportation continue to be pursued . Transport feeder ( feeder
busway ) also operated in 2011 in the 3 regions , namely SCBD , Puri Kembangan
and Tanah Abang , but closed in December 2012 because the operator considers
the routes lonely users and result in losses . [ 4 ] Currently , TransJakarta
supporting transport consists of Kopaja AC and AC Kopami operating in the city
and the Integrated Passenger Transport Busway ( APTB ) serving the Greater
Jakarta area .
